The KA500L has a Lithium Battery and can be charged using any of one of 3 different charging methods that include Hand-Cranking, Solar Panel, or from a USB Port. In addition, this radio has a 2,000 mAh Lithium Polymer battery which can be stored for long periods of time without significant damage to the battery.
