To throw knives, knives specially designed for throwing are required. That’s why Kershaw made the Ion Throwing Knife Set. The three throwing knives in the set are designed to have the correct weight and balance for target throwing.
Kershaw’s Ion knives are double-edged, spear-point blades. We made these full-tang knives from sturdy, high-chromium stainless steel and wrapped the handles in durable, sure-grip paracord. The extra-wide ring at the end adds balance, offers a great place to attach a lanyard, and makes it easy to remove the knives from the sheath—or from the target.
All three knives fit neatly in the nylon carrying and storage sheath, which makes it easy to take them out to the throwing range. | 10.75 inch overall. 5.38 inch sawback stainless spear point blade. Also stored inside sheath is a pullout tray with latex powerbands for slingshot. Back of tray features ruler, S.O.S. Signals and signaling mirror. Outside of sheath features several feet of nylon cord, black coated stainless metal arms at tip of sheath that flip out to serve as slingshot, and a sharpening stone on the back. Boxed.
| The extra long thick blade is 172 mm, 3.2 mm thick with and has a black anti-corrosive DLC-coating. Of course, the carbon steel is of highest quality and treated according to our secret company recipe in our factory in Mora. Its spine is ground specially for use with a fire starter and has a MOLLE compatible sheath of heavy duty nylon. This knife is designed especially for bushcraft and survival activities.
| Case trapper is about 4 1/8 inches long (folded/closed) and weighs approximately 3.5 ounces. The handle is Natural Bone . The bolsters are highly polished nickel silver. This knife utilizes a 3 1/4" clip blade and 3 1/4" spay blade. Stamped with pattern number 6254 SS, the blade material is true-sharp surgical stainless steel etched with "United States navy".
